More Information:

The laser is a safe, variable power unit which allows the operator precise manipulation of the light beam to clean challenging, high value surfaces without water, chemicals or abrasive materials. The laser leaves the existing irregular or flat substrates like welds, flanges or gasket surfaces in their original state and neither creates nor alters existing profiles or anchor points.

The powerful 3” wide (80mm), laser is connected to a flexible, heavy duty 150’ (50m), umbilical cord which houses the fibre-optic cable, compressed air and vacuum hose. When activated, its powerful light-beam removes coatings while the internal vacuum hose simultaneously draws residue into the disposal chamber. The attached air filtration and fume extractor captures potentially hazardous fumes, dust and residue in the unit’s HEPA and activated carbon filter system.

Housed in a specially designed climate controlled industrial trailer, the base unit requires a 480v, 3 phase, 20amp electrical hookup and operates in temperatures of 40°F to 95°F. Set-up and take-down is quick and efficient, requiring the operator to organize proper signage and aluminized protective curtains around the work area. Since the Industrial Laser unit has a minimal footprint and the work area can be conveniently isolated, ongoing work in the area can continue uninterrupted. Specialized Class IV laser protective eyewear along with appropriate PPE is required for system usage.

This laser cleaning process reduces the amount of hazardous residue, chemicals, fumes, dust, particulate, media and disposal costs generated by conventional surface preparation methods.
